Fish management staff from the WDNR shows students a boat rigged with electro-shocking equipment which stuns fish, allowing them to be easily scooped up into the boat.

A fyke net is another method to capture a large sample of fish.

When fish are capture by either method, individuals are identified by species, sex and age as well as measured and weighed before release. The data is used to characterized a lake's fish population.

Staff from the USDA Wildlife Services (USDA WS) bring a culvert trap to Kemp NRS along with a 300lb male black bear.

Nuisance bears receive red ear tags and are then released a minimum of 20 miles away from the original capture site.

A USDA WS technician demonstrates how a conibear trap is used to capture nuisance beaver. (Webmaster's note: Alternatives to trapping are available.)
